AGARTALA, June 5 (TIWN): Former CPI-M Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha on Saturday was summoned to East Agartala Police station centering a Facebook post where he said that everyone has right to defense and against miscreants' house to house attacks only 'self defense' is the solution. After being interrogated by Police, Bhanulal Saha said, "Resident of Banamalipur (CM Biplab deb's constituency) one Ashim Banerjee has filed a complaint against me in the East Agartala Police station. Interrogation has been done and I am returning for now". On being asked about what exactly was the post, Bhanulal Saha said, "I think everyone knows about my Facebook post already. In the last 3 years, uncountable attacks have taken place on opposition party workers' houses. Many have been killed also and after police complaints nothing happened, rather with fabricated cases, the victims have been attacked further, were harassed by police and also by hooligans......from our perspective state has no Rule of Law".Â
"Basically, there is no Rule-of-Law in Tripura and thus when law and order is collapsed everyone has the right for self-defense. When miscreants enter our home, try to kill, damage property, then self-defense is right. But the point is, there was no mention of the BJP, but it was said that the rulers could mean any of the ruling parties like TIPRA Motha, IPFT, BJP. But the reaction came only from BJP".
"Miscreants do not come with flags but only BJP has reacted over the Facebook posts. It means BJP has clarified that it conducted violence house to house", he added.
Interestingly, against 3 heavyweight CPI-M leaders including Bhanulal Saha similar cases were lodged though the leaders did not write directly against BJP party but calling press meets BJP has opposed the posts which indicates BJP's deep involvement in house to house attacks. Many times, CCTV cameras exposed huge numbers of BJP workers' faces behind house to house violent attacks.
