AGARTALA, June 4 (TIWN): Due to the reluctance of Forest Ranger, the government rubber plantation of old Matai in Belonia Subdivision is on the verge of destruction. Such allegations are being raised against the forest ranger in charge of the government rubber plantation.

It is known, Babul Debbarma, the forest ranger of the government rubber plantation at old Matai is not performing his duties properly. It was alleged the forest ranger does not even visit the rubber garden once in a month and also allegation raised against him that if the labourers call the ranger over phone, he doesn’t even respond to the ph calls.

The labourers working in government rubber garden at Matai have repeatedly raised the matter to the south district rubber board authorities but no stern action has been taken against the forest ranger, Babul Debbarma. Also many times theft incidents have occurred in the area, rubber sheets were taken by thieves and the labourers had to bear the burden of compensation. As a result, 7 laborers who are working in government garden are in dire straits of fear of losing their jobs.

Needless to say Babul Debbarma, the forest ranger is counting government salaries by sitting at home. The labourers are now demanding the rubber board authorities should take stern action against Babul Debbarma and a new forest ranger be given the responsibility to save the rubber plantation from destruction.

Now, it remains to be seen what action will be taken against the forest ranger.
