AGARTALA, June 2 (TIWN) Srinagar police arrested a suspected militant from Mandai area under Mandai PS with a joint effort of Mandai PS and TSR on last night, military uniform including a gun were recovered from him.

On 26 May police received information that some youths were roaming with illegal weapons at Gangaram Para. Based on this information police had led a raid at Jatindra Debbarma’s house on suspicion and recovered illegal weapons (Pistol) and military uniform from Jatindra's house. But Police was unable to arrest Jatindra as he escaped from his house.

Later Srinagar police engaged a source to arrest Jatindra and on last night police received information that Jatindra is roaming with his scooty registered No- TR01AN7716 at Mandai area under PS. Srinagar Police successfully arrested Jatindra with joint effort of Mandaipara TSR and police of Mandai PS, a local gun, military uniform and a pair of ankle shoes were recovered from his scooty.

After primary investigation it is known a team of 6-7 people is involved with him and he will be taken to court, said Srinagar PS, OC Manik Debnath.
