AGARTALA, June 2 (TIWN): Minister of food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs, Manoj Kanti Deb held a press conference today regarding the availability of food items in ration shops.
Addressing the conference, he said, "There are enough food items in our state. As per the government’s order the distributions of food items including 10 kg rice, 2 kg Red Lentil (Masoor Dal), 2 kg onions, 3 kg potatoes, powder milk, and salt among the 7 lakh families falling under the BPL and priority groups, has been started from today.
Each family will be given cash of Rs.1000 also. The food and Civil Service department are working on the delivery of the food items. However, the subsidiary rate of Masoor dal will increase for both the BPL and APL ration card holders once it is available again"
