AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): Belonia sub-divisional administrator led a raid at five water factories in Belonia, but the water factories owners were unable to provide valid documents of their business.
The raid was led by Belonia sub-divisional administrator, Manik Lal Das, DCM Swadesh Debbarma, Food Department Officer, and DWS Officer led a raid at five water factories in Belonia Ballamukha area, Jashmura area under PR Bari PS in Belonia Rajnagar block and many other places. But it was found some unscrupulous traders are illegally selling poisonous drinking water in the market. The raid was led on Saturday and the water factories owners were not able to show the valid documents of their water trade.
As unable to show valid documents the five water factories in Belonia subdivision were ordered to keep shut down until the owners were unable to show valid documents.
More Deatils : Belonia’s Sub-divisional Magistrate, Manik Lal Das and DCM Swadesh Devvarma along with Food Department Officer, DWS Office Officer and a large police force under PR Bari Police Station made a surprise visit at 5 drinking water units among which 4 are located in Belonia town and 1 under Rajnagar Block and ordered to close them due to bad quality of water and non-presentation of valid documents. After verifying the paperwork in the five water units, the water sample was sent to the lab for testing. Of the five water plants, only the one at Bilonia Ballamukha area has good water quality, sources said.
