AGARTALA, May 26 (TIWN): Extending support to the farmers, CPIM observed a black day to mark 6 months of protests against farm laws in different parts of the country. The anti-farmer laws, as called by the opposition, came to power 6-months back. The party called it the malicious campaign launched by Modi Govt. against the farmers and demanded to scrap the three pro-corporate farm laws rammed undemocratically by the BJP central govt. in parliament in September 2020.
With the call of the Union Kisan Morcha, CPIM activists observed “BLACK DAY” on Wednesday by showing black flags. The protest movement demonstrated at Belonia on the road side adjacent to Jagannathbari area.
CPI-M leaders and activists of various leftist organizations joined the protest with slogans to cancel the anti-farmers' agriculture bill, and also various other demands were raised.
At the call of the United Kisan Morcha, leftist mass organizations took part in the protest by flying black flags on Wednesday as part of the Black Day program. Leaders and activists of the organization joined the protest by chanting slogans and held play cards with various demands. AIKS, TMKU, CITU, GMP, AIDWA, SFI, and DYFI took part in the protest.
The participants held the protest movement by showing placards in their hands with various demands, also an effigy was burned. AIKS, TMKU, CITU, GMP, AIDWA, SFI, DYFI are the seven leftist mass organizations, joined the protest programme by maintaining social distance. CPIM leaders- Babul Debnath, Basudeb Majumdar, Dipankar Sen leader of Khetmajur Union, CITU leaders Tapas Dutt, Vijay Tilak, Trilokesh Sinha and student youth leaders Madhusudan Datta, Ripu Saha, Sukant Majumder and many other leaders of these mass organizations joined today’s programme.
