AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): On Saturday night based on a tip-off, Forest Department personnel led by a patrolling officer of Amarpur Forest Department Prasenjit Banik, seized a truck (TR03G 1807) loaded with huge quantities of timber from Amarpur Mouza village.
The vehicle loaded with timber was taken to the Amarpur Thakshara Forest Office. The forest officer, Prasenjit Banik said there had been allegations of illegal timber smuggling for several days so last night the car loaded with timber was detained on a tip-off but the forest workers were not able to arrest the driver.
When the entire country is facing a severe oxygen crisis other bandits are clearing the forest. If it continues this way, then in a few years, the human race will no longer exist. If people and the forest department are not aware of this, then terrible days are waiting for us.
