AGARTALA, May 15 (TIWN): Debt-ridden over a Bandhan Bank loan Abhijit Debnath, a 30-year-old man, committed suicide by hanging. The incident took place on Friday night at a rubber garden near Matabari Kamarbagh SPO camp under Udaipur Radha Kishorepur police station.

Locals residing in that area told the media that some family issues were going on over the debt for several days and Abhijit used to get drunk often in an unusual way.

Hearing the incident, the Radha Kishorepur police led by SI Debabrata Sinha rushed to the spot and started the investigation. Abhijit’s body was sent to the morgue of Gomati District Hospital for autopsy, informed SI.

The demise has been identified as Abhijit Debnath, 30 year’s old committed suicide by hanging on a tree over Bandhan Bank debt burden. The incident took place on Saturday at a rubber garden near Matabari Kamarbagh SPO camp under Udaipur Radha Kishorepur police station .

According to the local villagers in the area it is known that for several days arguments have been going on between Abhijit and his wife over the clearance of Bandhan Bank debt. Out of frustration of clearing debt Abhijit often used to get drunk, also added the villagers.

The man committed suicide by hanging on a tree following a quarrel with his wife on last night.  While the suicide incident was reported to Udaipur Radha Kishorepur PS, SI Debabrata Sinha went to the spot and rescued the hanging body and has started investigating.  The body will send to the morgue of Gomti District Hospital for an autopsy, said Debabrata Sinha, a on duty police officer.
