AGARTALA, May 13 (TIWN): Housewife Rumani Debbarma (18) resident of Khowai District found dead at North Continental Hotel’s room in Dharmanagar.

It is known that Rumani Debbarma and her husband have been working as hotel staff at the North Continental Hotel at Dharmanagar Railway Station Road for a long time. But, due to curfew and pandemic situations, customers do not visit the hotel regularly.

 Meanwhile, when the hotel owner arrived at the hotel on Wednesday evening, the husband of the dead woman said his wife, Rumani, was not opening the door of a particular room even after a long call from outside.

The owner and the manager of the North Continental Hotel had broken down the door and saw the tribal woman was lying unconscious inside the room. Immediately the wife, Rumani was taken to Dharmanagar District Hospital, where, the on duty doctors at the hospital declared the tribal wife as dead.

However, the cause of death was not known. Police have taken up a case and are investigating the incident. The husband of a dead tribal woman was arrested.

The cause of death could be known after an autopsy on Thursday morning.

The body is now in the morgue of Dharmanagar District Hospital and will be handed over to the family after an autopsy.
