AGARTALA, May 12 (TIWN): In Tripura, actions are underway against Covid rule violators with massive Covid spikes, but at the same time the ruling party members continue to violate Covid laws including the role model politicians. On Wednesday Police held Mask-drive across Agartala but on the same day, Tripura Minister Ratanlal Nath, BJP MLA Surajit Datta joined a programme where MLA Surajit Datta had kept his mouth unmasked and no social distancing was maintained in the programme, though it was a Covid awareness programme at Joypur, Agartala. Same happened when brutal attacks were organized against former Chief Minister, former Minister when BJP workers gathered in a massive number without Covid protocol and held on camera attacks on the opposition for long time at Santir Bazar on May 10 but police could not take any action.

The latest Covid death and positivity rates in Tripura of 24 hours were record breaking for the year 2021. Rapid Antigen Testing has been started in AMC areas. At the same time, the national record of Covid-19 is also alarming. India has recorded 3.29 Lakh Fresh COVID-19 Cases, 3,876 Deaths. A total of 3,29,942 infections were reported in a span of 24 hours, while the death count climbed to 2,49,992 with 3,876 fresh fatalities, the data showed.After registering a steady rise for two months, the active cases have reduced to 37,15,221 comprising 16.16 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 82.75 per cent.
