'We still have time to Control COVID......', Tripura Health Dept appeals people to obey COVID guidelines

AGARTALA, April 29 (TIWN): 'We still have time to control the COVID-19 if people become concern and serious about the deadly second wave of COVID-19........', such has been said by Dr. Deep Debbarma while addressing on yesterday evening press meet. It is first time that four digit number (1020) of COVID cases have been reported in Tripura since 2021 started. Talking to media, Nodal Officer Deep Debbarma said along with 16 COVID centres, over 1467 beds are in stocks. 1020 is Thursday's COVID active Case's number. 848 persons are in Home Isolation. "This is really a matter of concern as the positivity rates are increasing everyday but in compare to yesterday, today's rate is much higher. It is alarming as in last 1 week it is the highest spike in week and if seen as per digit, it will be highest in 2021", said Dr. Deep Debbarma.

Yesterday Principal Secretary held meeting with Officials of the administration including police. The meeting was held virtually. 

50 patients have been recovered on Thursday whereas daily spike recorded 0.50%.

On Thursday, West Tripura District Magistrate (DM) Dr. Shailesh Yadav took a note of the arrangements of Hapania COVID Health Centre which will be functioned under the observation of the Tripura Medical College (TMC) hospital. However, during his visit, the District Magistrate has also said that Tripura Govt will also contribute medical staff and other needs.

Oxygen arrangement and other necessary equipment will be available here. Highly serious patients will be sent to GB Health Centre where ICU, ventilations are available. Another 150 bedded COVID care centre is under arrangement at the Badharghat COVID Care centre. These steps have been taken as COVID cases are spiking up in state Tripura.

DM Shailesh Yadav said that everyday huge numbers of ases are on rise statewide. By Saturday morning, Hapania Health Centre will admit patients and it has been kept under full AC. The administration which will control the Health Centre will operate from DM Office, West Tripura.
