AGARTALA, April 21 (TIWN): To control the COVID-19 outbreak, Tripura Govt has imposed Night Curfews in Municipal bodies along with Postponement of Job Tests, Restrictions on gathering. In an order passed under No.F.2(1)/CS/Home/2020, Manoj Kumar, Chief Secretary and Chairman has signed. In the notification it was said, "Whereas it has come to the notice of the State Government that there is spread of COVID-19 occurring in different parts of the state which poses a major threat to public health, hygiene and safety of the people and it is also felt that unless measures are put in place to contain the spread of the pandemic, there is chance of large scale spread of COvID-19 in the population which is likely to cause loss of human lives. Executive Committee..........................The epidemic disease COVID-19, in its 2nd wave, is spreading very rapidly throughout the country".
" In Tripura, new cases of CVID-19 are also being detected every day. The positivity rate is steadily rising........." I, therefore, in the capacity of the Chairman of the State Executive Committee of Tripura State Disaster Management Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 22 (2) (h) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 direct enforcement of following measures which will be in force till 30th April, 2021", the order said.
(1) Corona Night Curfew : Corona night curfew will be imposed between 10 PM to 5 AM in Agartala Municipal Corporation area wef 22nd April, 2021. Medical and other emergency needs and persons to maintan essential services like health, police, security, power supply, drinking water supply etc may be exempted. DM (West) will issue order under section 144 CrPC giving details. Wide publicity will be done of the order and strict enforcement measures will be taken.
(2) Postponement of examinations: In view of serious covid situation, the job related physical examinations and tests will stand postponed. This will include written examination by Joint Recruitment Board of Manpower & Employment Department and physical test of IR battalion. The concerned Departments will issue notification in this regard.
(3) Restrictions on gathering:
1. In closed spaces, a maximum of 50% of the seating/hall capacity should allowed for any social, cultural, entertainment or political gathering with a ceiling of 100 persons. In open spaces, higher numbers may be allowed based on the size of the ground / space with a ceiling of 200 persons. Wearing of face masks, maintaining social distancing and provision of hand wash or sanitizer will be mandatory. The organisers will deploy sufficient no. of volunteers/ staffs to regulate the crowd and enforcement of norms of social distancing and wearing of mask. Prior permission for all such gathering may be obtained from district/police administration.
2. Maximum 100 persons may be allowed in marriage/ birthday & other social functions both in public or private place.
3. Maximum 20 persons should be allowed in funeral last rites related gathering
4. Movie halls/ Multiplexes will function at 50% capacity.
5. Persons above the age of 65 are advised to remain indoors unless required to go for essential services. Others may be advised to curtail unnecessary movement and avoid crowded places.
