AGARTALA, April 20 (TIWN): Massive crowd has thronged to Agartala Durga Bari centering Basanti puja festival, violating social distancing norms and protocols. Not only in Durga Bari but in various parts of the state, such incidents were witnessed today. Massive violations of COVID-19 guidelines continuing in Tripura's various places centering festivals. On yesterday in Golaghati people organized a fair without administrative permission and today also the same unnecessary gatherings were observed in various parts of the capital city Agartala. In case of hospitals, markets there are still logics behind gathering but in Pratapgarh a religious annual function was performed where all were taking holy baths in Howarh river but nobody was wearing a mask and no social distancing was maintained. The Government has not imposed any lockdown and misuse of this relaxation can heavily be witnessed. Same conditions continued in Rails and Buses. In Agartala Durga Bari though yesterday the crowd was under control but today's gathering was more.

Amid Tripura Health Dept's approach to the masses to follow the COVID safety protocols, the trains, buses and other vehicles were witnessed loaded with passengers along with no social distancing maintenance. Though the State Govt has closed the Educational Institutions but crowds are visible in various places and still rallies, fairs are continuing in many places and sometimes without permission of the authority. Meanwhile, the Central Government on Monday announced that every person above the age of 18 years will be eligible to be vaccinated against Covid-19 from May 1.

Apart from this, vaccine manufacturers will be incentivised to further scale up their production, as well as attract new national and international players. Vaccine manufacturers will be empowered to release up to 50% of their supply to the state government and in the open market at a pre-declared price.

The Union Health Ministry Monday said Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan are among the 10 states that account for 78.58 per cent of the new Covid-19 cases reported in a day. The other states in the list of 10 are Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
