AGARTALA, April 15 (TIWN): India added over two lakh new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, an unprecedented figure, to take its toll to over 1.4 crore, but State Tripura which is already suffering due to COVID-19 outbreak and followed by political rallies in TTAADC Poll, CM, Deputy CM were tested positive, common men in Tripura yet to get alert about COVID-19 outburst. India has been the world's worst-hit country since April 2, forcing states scrambling to impose curbs to control the virus. Mass gathering in a fair in Kuripukur, Amtali, Agartala and also in other places of the state. With 1,038 people dying in the same time span, the total fatalities rose to 1,73,123. India's tally of more than 1.4 crore Covid cases is the second-highest globally, behind the United States and ahead of Brazil's. On the occasion of "Pohela Boishakh" from market to fair everywhere such gatherings could be noticed though in few temples the social distancing was maintained well.

Public were found reluctant to follow the COVID-19 guidelines in Tripura on the "Pohela Boishakh" festival. When nationwide, massive COVID outbreak has hit the population, in Tripura public are still relaxed to observe the protocols. 

In a fair at Amtali Agartala, people were seen not only violating social distances but even not wearing masks. Also many were not even wearing masks also.   On the other side, hawkers were not allowed to organize Chaitra Sankranti reduction fair in Sakuntala market but when its comes about gathering management in other places, administration's massive failures have been noticed.
