Earlier in 2019, a boy named Dipak Debnath was arrested without FIR just because he shared Tripurainfoway.com news which questioned on the double schooling certificates of a BJP MLA. Like this many youths were harassed, arrested, jailed for facebook remarks. A journalist Parashar Biswas was beaten up severely after his statement on Biplab Deb after Biplab Deb threatened the media in broad daylight.
