AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): Despite tall claims by Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath regarding the availability of infrastructure and qualified teachers in government schools, the ground situation in remote areas in Tripura is quite the opposite. A teacher from Kalkalia HS School of Bishalgarh while sharing his experience said: “forget cleanliness in our school, we do not even have proper toilets. It is difficult for the girls to manage without a toilet but we can’t do anything as we don’t know whom to complain to. We are running the school for the past years without a Headmaster. Due to lack of classrooms we cannot teach students on regular basis. For 3 years, we have approached the authorities concerned for the required staff and infrastructural norms but our demand has fallen on deaf ears.â€
Schools are supposed to be the temples of learning, but in Tripura, it is likely to be a shabby, run-down place without admittance to Drinking water, toilet and with required teachers and classrooms, because of that learning condition is getting wretched and unfortunate.
The Poor condition of educational institutions is a serious matter of concern but the ruling Government is ignorant to follow the infrastructural norms and other facilities as provided under the centrally sponsored scheme Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) for primary schools and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) for secondary and higher secondary schools proving ones again that it is not utilizing center sponsored funds judiciously to meet the necessity for the brighter future of students.
