AGARTALA, Feb 22 (TIWN): "Justice for 10323" organization's members on Monday have asked Education Minister Ratanlal Nath why is he not clarifying how many teachers were terminated by Courts ? This question was raised by the 10323 teachers after Ratanlal Nath allegedly said that not all the 10323 teachers are affected in Court order. Addressing media on behalf of Justice for 10323 Teachers (one of the Organizations which formed Joint-Movement-Committee) Ajay Debbarma said, "Recently Education Minister Ratanlal Nath said in a press meet that 10323 teachers' numbers are not mentioned in the verdict. So we want to know what the exact terminated teachers numbers".
The issue was pulled again as even after much requests, Education Dept did not give any written reply to the queries of the 10323 teachers, raising doubts about 10323 teachers' job-terminations' logic further.
He further pointed, "When we filed a case in the Supreme Court and State Govt had replied to the notice issued by Supreme Court, it said on 18th June, 2020 that only 462 teachers were affected and on 22nd July's affidavit also, 462 numbers were given as terminated teachers' numbers. When we asked the Education Dept about that, the Dept could not reply but said that it was a Cabinet decision. Such things are quite confusing. Moreover, out of 58 petitions, why 57 petitions were implemented, not 58. Why did one petition remain unimplemented? Till we get answers from the Govt about it, our protest will continue".
The 10323 teachers said that they need a list of terminated teachers' names.
