BOXONAGAR, Feb 19 (TIWN): Family attempted to commit suicide in Boxonagar, Sonamura of Tripura. Primary report says that due to debts and poverty the family took such a decision.

The incident took place at Kalamchara, Manikyanagar Panchayat area. Reportedly, Rajib Pal (24) and Preeti Das (21) were married before 11 months but Rajib took debts from the public and the burden was causing peaceless situations in the family. Everyday fights, poverty led the couple to take the major decision.

They took Pesticides to die. The husband and the baby inside the Preeti's womb have died already and the 21 years old Preeti is in critical condition, undergoing treatment. 

Both Rajib and Preeti became married 11 months before, after a love affair developed between them.

None of the family members of the deceased persons raised any complaint against anyone centering the incident.

Locals alleged that the husband Rajib had huge loan-burdens. However, the bride's family said that for the last 5 to 6 days both were fighting but the reason could not be known yet. Moreover, they complained that Rajib forced Preeti to take poison and then he himself consumed poison. The body of Rajib has been taken for post mortem.
