'Congress to start movement against BJP's violent culture'. said former State Congress President Birjit Sinha

AGARTALA, Jan 25 (TIWN): Surrounding BJP’s brutal attack on Tripura Pradesh Congress President, Piyush Kanti Biswas on Jan 17, Bishalgarh police have allegedly arrested Congress leader Joydul Hossain on charges of assault on him. Bishalgarh sub-divisional court remanded him in custody till February 4.

While former provincial Congress president Birjit Sinha came to see Joydul, at Bishalgarh Central jail on Monday, expressed his displeasure. Condemning police’s negative role, Sinha said that there is no rule of law at present. Police have become slaves of the ruling party. He said that the people of the state could not accept the fact how BJP had deliberately arrested the Congress leader freeing the actual culprits behind the incident.

Addressing media, Sinha assured to join the movement with Provincial Congress on the Jan 27 to condemn the unfair role of Tripura Police.
