'All Tripura Blind Association' raised 14-points demand

AGARTALA, Dec 26 (TIWN): The All Tripura Blind Association organized a press meet today at Agartala Press Club with 14-points demands.

1.           To enable the enactment of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act in our State.

2.           To appoint full-time commissioner in the state for specially qualified persons.
3.           To establish separate offices for specially qualified persons.

4.           To fill the vacant posts of the blind in various departments of the State Government through special recruitment response.
5.           To provide free medical aid to the blind in government hospitals.
6.           The later press at the Bir Chandra Library needs to be launched soon.

7.           To arrange Braille books for blind students according to NCERT syllabus.

8.           To provide subject teacher in Narsingarh’s Blind Boy’s School.

9.           To provide regular stipend to Blind students studying in college.

10.        The amount of allowance for the blind should be increased from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 5000
11.        December 3, World Disability Day should be re-declared as a public holiday
12.        To set-up a branch of the National Institute of Empowerment for Visual Empire Dehradun in the state.
13.        To find a permanent solution to the terminated 10323 teachers as soon as possible.
14.        To stop harassment of blind people in government institutions.
