AGARTALA, Dec 20 (TIWN): At least 20 persons from the CPI-M party were injured, including 3 journalists in Khayerpur today during a Convention which was conducted by the Opposition Party CPI-M's youth wings. Although BJP's 2 members were injured after BJP allegedly attacked twice the CPI-M's convention and later BJP leaders dumped the blame on the CPI-M, CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar said that around 30 to 35 persons have been identified from the BJP and Pabitra Kar's house has CCTV footage where clearly BJP activists faces have been seen and what exactly happened, it also came out. Addressing media, Pabitra Kar has informed that two persons have received head-injuries and among them Ratan Das is still in GB hospital but another CPI-M member Swadharanjan Deb is referred to Kolkata. The attack took place at around 11 am and BJP workers allegedly used rod, sharp weapons to attack.

The CPI-M leader also has thanked police higher authority for taking immediate action to control the situation. On the other side, 3 journalists were attacked in that incident. This attack took place followed by CM Biplab Deb's recent statement against the CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar during his Bordowali speech. 

Many bikes, cars were burnt, destroyed in the attack by BJP. However, the attack is continuing and bikes have been burnt in the evening in a house by the BJP Party workers. 

Pabitra Kar in press conference said that injured Ratan Das may also need brain operation, but till now, he is in GB.
