AGARTALA, Dec 17 (TIWN): Agartala Press Club President Subal Dey during his address in Assembly of Journalist's conference has proposed to boycott CM Biplab Deb.

The statement came followed by various scattered attacks on the journalists statewide and CM Biplab Deb's anti-media remark in broad day light speech where he said, he will not forgive media for writing over COVID-19 mismanagements under Health Dept, which fueled further attacks on state's journalists but the Chief Minister never apologized for his statement amid it became a national news.

Subal Dey mentioned, already various places, press clubs have started boycotting CM Biplab Deb and such a CM has been unseen in whole India who can threaten media in public programme.

Dainik Sambad Editor Paramita Livingstone however mentioned that she does not think only by boycotting CM or changing CM there will be a guarantee of democracy and free speech because, 'Whoever goes in Lanka, s/he becomes a Ravana'.

She said, regardless any political, social crisis, journalists should be united to fight back the autocracy because, free speech is fundamental right and  no politician can give 'Freedom' to media until the media persons are united.

Assembly of Journalist also criticized the Govt for it's attempt to stop the investigation process in journalist Santanu Bhoumik and Sudip Datta Bhowmik murder cases. Subal Dey mentioned, no financial help was given to murdered journalist Sudip Datta Bhoumik's family yet.
