AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): BJP MLA, ex-Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman on Thursday while addressing media after a blood donation camp said that due to attacks of miscreants in blood donation camps, numbers of blood donors are at fall causing severe blood crisis in the blood banks of the state. "They are anti-social elements, who are attacking in blood donation camps. When we search for blood in IGM, GB blood banks, the blood banks maximum times say that they don't have stocks. Right now, exchange-culture is going on, where blood donor of any group is needed to get a blood but when blood is out of stock then, this exchange-culture is not also helping out. There are lots of reasons behind such blood crisis. Attacks in various blood donation camps is a big reason behind numbers of donors are falling. Then, COVID-19 is also another reason as public are unwilling to donate blood", said Sudip Roy Barman.
"I would request all the NGOs, political, apolitical groups to come forward to organize blood donation camps and at the same time, my request to the common men to donate blood at least thrice in a year", said Barman.
This statement came from Sudip Roy Barman after various blood donation camps of the opposition parties were attacked by own party BJP. Along Sudip Roy Barman, MLA Sushanta Chowdhury and MLA Asish Saha were also present in today's blood donation camp organized by Balmiki-Samajik-Sangtha in Agartala Indranagar.
