AGARTALA, Nov 22 (TIWN): Since Biplab Deb has become the Chief Minister, firing, violence, lawless incidents have turned common either its Madhav Bari or Panisagar. The mob groups may be from any organization or party but tension with arms forces are at massive rise, deteriorating law and order situations in state. In the Panisagar incident the State Govt has not yet clarified whether Home Dept gave any order for firing or not. The matter is under Magisterial investigation.
Earlier, before BJP had assumed power, State witnessed 11 days long IPFT's road blockade at National Highway, the then CM Manik Sarkar official residence gherao and various daring protest programmes, but the Home Dept controlled the situation with sensibility.
However, the then Govt also could not avoid charges of firing like in Papai Saha case, where the family has not received any justice yet.
But, the situation is worse under Biplab Deb Govt with a reflection of a falied Home Ministry. His Govt also witnessed "mob-lynching" like cases in rise.
Massive violence have hit the Northern part of Tripura with one died and 36 left seriously injured, hospitalized. One man was killed and 36 others injured.
The exact reason of clash between police could not be known and Govt now has ordered a probe. But this unfortunate incident happened as the State Govt did not take any initiative to meet the Joint Movement Committee amid their protests and demands.
Police said that 45-years-old Srikanta Das was shot dead and five others seriously injured when police had to open fire on the agitating mob that subsequently attacked the security forces at Panisagar in North Tripura district. The Anti-Bru group has two demands : 1) Not to give repatriation to all Bru families in Kanchapur but to scatter them across Tripura, 2) Also to compensate the previous riot victims from Mizo and Bengali families.
