AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): The COVID-19 death-toll has raised to 353 with more persons succumbing to the infection. But so far no step has been taken to compensate the deceased family members whereas the State Govt had promised to compensate Rs. 10 lakhs to front line workers and Rs. 4 lakhs for the rest. About this unpaid compensation, no clarification has been given yet. This issue is now the hot-cake of controversy where Tripura Govt has failed to give Rs. 10 lakhs to COVID deceased families from Media, Medical dept, police etc, although the numbers of dead persons crossed 300 already. In month of May, CM promised to give Tripura Govt will pay Rs. 10 lakhs to family of the deceased of Front Line Warriors. Earlier Tripura Govt had announced to pay Rs. 4 lakhs to the victim families of COVID19 patient if s/he died in the pandemic but now CM has introduced new scheme paying Rs. 10 lakhs to the Front Line Warriors of State if dies.
