AGARTALA, Oct 20 (TIWN): Vehicle strike has been continuing for 3 days in Tripura. Sometimes buses and sometimes autos are denying to ply on road with allegations of police harassment and seeking fare hikes' permission from the Govt. Tripura Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Monday made it clear that a bus can use all seats and only "overloading" was restricted in vehicles, not seat-limitations but his statement could not console the drivers and workers till now. Like everyday, a drama started in Nagerjala auto stand, saying they will not play their vehicles on road if not given hiked fares. Angry passengers today blocked road at there and protested to draw Transport's attention. The passengers said that no vehicle is maintaining social distancing but amid risks, the passengers are going but still the auto drivers are seeking extra fares, which is totally an extortion taking opportunity of Govt's silence.
There is no rules and regulations in fixing fares and everyday, the passengers are harassed, humiliated by the drivers asking illegal fares.
