AGARTALA, Oct 4 (TIWN): In a press conference on Saturday, CPI-M senior leader and GMP president Jiten Chowdhury blasted anti-opposition curriculums under BJP regime in Tripura.
Mentioning the yesterday's attack on Teliamura CPIM party office, the leader said, "On everyday basis opposition parties are facing attacks. They try to stop our any curriculum, they don't even spare attacking on blood donation camps too. On our yesterday's curriculum they tried to create a problem since morning, understanding that we were forced to cancel our program in order to maintain the peace. But some members couldn't be notified about the cancellation and came to party office. They were prepared from before and as soon as our members arrived they attacked on our party office. They tried to break the lock and enter, they threw stones and other stuffs to harm us. Police were present at the spot and tried to control the situation but the whole situation couldn't be controlled. They broke all our members bikes and vehicles that were parked infront of the party office."
"We live in a democratic country where every citizens have the right of enjoying his fundamental rights. But under BJP regime, we barely can do anything peacefully. Violation of democracy can lead the State destroy completely, history will give the proof of it," Chowdhury added.
He also said that he talked with the Senior police officers and they said that the will engage the higher ranked police officers to look after this matter. He also asked the government to ensure the democratic rights for not only the CPI-M party members but all oppositions and common people of this State.
