AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): Anti-Farmers Bill protests have rocked Tripura's various parts led by the Congress party. The party has said that it will continue protests in coming days until the Govt is scrapping the anti-farmers bill. However, amid nationwide protests, President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday gave his assent to all the three contentious farm bills, which opposition parties say are anti-farmer and corporate-friendly, after they were recently passed by Parliament during its monsoon session amid vehement protests. Agitating Congress activists in Agartala were seen burning effigy of Narendra Modi, staged protest with crops in hands. It was a part of Raj Bhawan Abhiyan. The Congress protesters also sat in sit and demonstration programme amid the protest. Talking to media, Congress senior leader Birjit Sinha said, 'Through protests, this farmers bills must be scrapped. Today, Narendra Modi Govt has announced war against the farmers. Congress will continue protests unless Govt scraps the bills".
Congress's Kishan Shramik Trade Union, Tripura Pradesh Congress Sevadal, Youth Congress, NSUI, OBC, MINORITY cell have joined the protest.
