AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): ‘Replacing Ship Promise with Boat-Reality in Sonamura and Tripura’s Second Ranking in Unemployment in the whole country are the two achievements of BJP Govt in Tripura in the latest development’, said TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar while addressing in his facebook live from USA on Sunday evening in India time. At the very beginning of his speech, Editor Saumen Sarkar has congratulated Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb for his two achievements in last two weeks, which have taken Tripura Govt on the peak of public criticism. First one is his over-publicity with a small boats’ arrival in Sonamura which generated memes in the social media due to the boat’s size and what he promised earlier about bringing a ship and the second achievement is ranking of Tripura in second position of unemployment. “There have been lots of stories centering this ship’s arrival. But the point is, if the people in power don’t understand the difference between ship and boat and crawls for publicity from it, it’s not even a matter of discussion. This is ofcourse not new but now the river has lost its navigability and doing all these are just wastage of funds. Just for 200 sacks of cements such levels of publicity is truly funnyâ€, the Editor said.
“One thing is clear that to bring these sacks of cement, the cost was very less in compare to the expenditure wasted to stage-making and other arrangements”, said Sarkar.
He asked, “When there will not be rain, what will be the navigability quality ? Now it’s monsoon, still the boat was stuck on muddy water. So it’s quite clear what happened in 2 and half years is JUMLA and to put on ‘Topi’ (Hat) on people’s heads”.
