Child's death in GB hospital, Patient Party alleged 'negligence' : Family to File FIR

AGARTALA, Sep 2 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, an infant's dead body left with his mother for more than 12 hours in GB hospital, as no one allegedly came to even check them. The incident took place on yesterday. The family also alleged that the newborn died due to the hospital's negligence.

Reportedly, on 30th August the patient gave birth to her child in Bishalgarh Subdivisional hospital. According to the family, both the mother and child were completely healthy. On next day the hospital staffs took swab sample from the mother and within few minutes they sent them to GB hospital via ambulance, saying that the mother is Covid positive.

After taking them to GB the mother left with her new born alone as no one from the family was permitted to go with her. Her mother-in-law alleged that no doctor or nurse came to check them after they admitted in GB. She also tried to go with them but the authority made her run one building to another to get permission, alleged the mother-in-law.

Later, on night the baby's health started deteriorating but after informing the authority also, no one did not even came to see them, alleged the family members. After that without getting any sort of treatment, the baby died on morning 4. They informed the authority about it and demanded their daughter-in-law back to them as her mental condition was so weak. But the shocking part his, the mother was made to hold her newborn's dead body for more than 12 hours . No doctor or staff went to check her health, no person was there to take the baby's dead body from the mother, alleged the family members.

Her brother said," My sister will die if they don't take the baby's dead body from her. Her mental condition is so critical. She needs support of the family righ now. But the GB authority is making us run from one officer to another for the paperwork and doing no help to us. Who will be responsible if something happens to my sister now?

The family Sought immediate release of the mother and also said that they will take legal action against their baby's death.
