AGARTALA, Sep 2 (TIWN): On Tuesday, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated 'Lifeline Express' at Sabroom. The Lifeline express or Jeevan Rekha Express is a hospital train introduced by Indian government on 1991. The train runs with a simple idea i.e. take hospital services and medical aid to the people, especially those living in far-flung areas of rural India, who remain untouched or poorly serviced by healthcare facilities.
On this day,CM Biplab Deb also held a program at Sabroom town hall. While addressing the people of Sabroom, Deb said, "the saddest thing for me is when the daily Covid report comes to me after the end of the day and I find a list of people who died of Covid. We all know that a living being has to die someday, but loosing a person for Covid-19 or a disease like that is unacceptable."
"We have tried to make a list of 50,000 people under APL who are poor and are not able to earn sufficient money during this time. We gave them one time cash or 2 months free rice." Deb added. However, a permanent solution for the daily workers and the poor people of the State are had the worst affect of Covid-19 pandemic, is not yet introduced by the Biplab Deb's government.
Although, the oppositions have raised voice for monthly 7,500 rupees for the people who doesn't come under the taxation and free ration for everyone for sixth months. But the Government is yet to work on this proposal.
