AGARTALA, Aug 21 (TIWN): TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar has applauded Tripura Police for its stern action in Bishalgarh political clash on Thursday where Police imposed lathi-charge neutrally to control the situation at there, amid Police constable was severely injured by ruling party BJP’s hooligans. The Editor has mentioned about police’s important role based on the urgent need of the situation which has brought the clash in control. The clash erupted after BJP goons gheraoed a bus which was going to Agartala with Congress activists who were going to join in Rajiv Gandhi’s 72nd birth anniversary programme and then a clash occurred between two groups. Police rushed to the spot getting informed about the bloody-clash and took action accordingly, but the BJP miscreants held attacks on Police also, led police to impose lathi-charge.

But then BJP gheraoed police station without masks and social distancing and soon MP Pratima Bhowmik joined the gherao and threatened police officers on spot. She is the same MP who before becoming an MP had threatened an IPS officer Kiran Kumar to kill him on spot after he took action against BJP’s nightmare attacks in opposition party members houses on April 12, 2019.

On Thursday, Tripura witnessed one of the dirtiest Political attack on Police, after the MP with party workers threatened action against Bishalgarh police for accomplishing neutral duty to control Bishalgarh clash.

In the clash 30 people were injured including a police official. Congress President Pijush Biswas told the Congress workers that the party is with them and he will handle the situation in anyway, assuring all legal supports.

Sources informed, the whole police dept is upset, angry over the political interference in police’s works and attack on police by political hooligans.
