AGARTALA, November 26 (TIWN): Electricity will be provided in the interior areas of the state especially those areas which is having at least 100 families, said Power Minister Manik Dey, interacting with the media persons at civil secretariat, here today.
The minister further said that under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana a total of Rs. 684 crore and 22 lakh was demanded by the state government but the central government has issued Rs. 316 crore 22 lakh, the minister said.
The work of this electricity mission under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana will be completed by the end of December 2016.
Due to this the electricity will reach to those people of the state who never thought that they will be able to use electricity. The people of the interior areas of the state will not only able to use electricity but it will also upgrade their life style. The schools which are present in those interior areas will also able to use electricity which will help the students of those areas, the minister said.
