AGARTALA, Aug 20 (TIWN): When unemployment issue is burning the state Tripura, the Ministers and leaders are busy to assert that the unemployment rate has been reduced in state, whereas Law Minister Ratanlal Nath has said that unemployment rate in Tripura is only 5% amid CMIE’s data shows Tripura’s unemployment rate is alarming, the reality is something else as terminations of employees have become another matter of concern for the contractual staffs under Govt of Tripura.
But does the Govt has any answer about mass-termination of employees, when not only in SC’s order led 10323 but it included JICA, Contractual employees under mid-day-meal, municipalities and health ? When BJP before election promised about regularizing contractual employees once BJP voted to power, now the Govt is desperately terminating its employees.
When Tripura Govt is claiming about multi-thousand jobs’ creation in last 2 and half years, in reality from Mid-day-meal to other contractual employees have been terminated massively in last 2 and half yeats. Now, 3 cleaning staffs were terminated from Teliamura subdivisional hospital after serving them with notices in their hands. Surprisingly, recently Tripura High Court has given a verdict clearly stating that no contractual employee can be terminated without notice, justification but these 3 cleaning staffs were terminated undemocratically in allegation of failure in doing duty regularly. In the termination notice, it has been stated by Sub-Divisional Medical officer, “In the RKS Body meeting dated 20-06-2020 the services of Sri Parendra Tantri (SCA) Laxmi Das (SCA) Shikha Sarkar (SCA) were discussed".
"The body unanimously came to conclusion regarding termination as their negligence in duty was highly bothering and they did not rectify themselves after repeated warnings. Hereby they are released from their duties. The balance wages will be realized in their account”, the order said.
The poor families have begged State Govt's keen notice to the issue and to save their livelihoods.
