AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): A tensed situation erupted in GB hospital after a Coronavirus patient died there but the hospital allegedly could not give them any test report of the particular date (August 10) and doubt increased after hospital suggested the patient party to take dead-body to home. Addressing media, a family member said, “The deceased was a regular patient and had some liver, kidney related problems. But due to lockdown, we could not take him to other states for treatment for long 3 months. We brought him to GB hospital. After we brought him to GB Hospital, he was released after primary treatment".

"Then his condition again downed on 10th August and accordingly we brought him here. Then Doctors informed that he is COVID-19 positive asking any of us to stay with him. Today Doctors said, he is dead but when we sought report, the hospital could not give reports, saying, on yesterday (11th August) he was tested positive. So, our question is – if he was tested COVID-19 positive on 11th, then why he was kept with COVID-19 patients on 10th of August ?”

The deceased is named Gopal Saha, resident of Lembuchara. He has been ill from around a year due to kidney and liver problems.

“When we asked the authority, it was said, they have no report of 10th August. Now, they are telling us to take the dead-body. When a patient’s body is taken home ? How can COVID-19 patient’s body be taken home ?”, said the deceased’s brother.

Crying over the situation, sister of the deceased has sought justice.

“I have lost my brother. Now my parents are no more. I seek justice from the incident. Now they said, we can take dead body if DM permits, but if my brother was a COVID patient, how can we take the dead body ?”, asked the deceased sister.
