Tripura to boost ‘Yoga’ after Central Govt asked Tripura Govt to return Unutilized Funds given for ‘Yoga’

AGARTALA, Aug 6 (TIWN): Tripura Sports Minister Manoj Kanti Deb on Thursday has given a green signal for gym-opening along with Yoga and other few centres starting, although no final decision according to him was taken so far.

Deb said that Govt is thinking to start yoga, gym, badminton, table tennis like sports centres after August 11 but no final decision was taken.This concern came to the Govt as physical activity, exercise is important to the public health.

Govt will also appoint Yoga teachers in all coaching centres in state, said the Minister. 

It has been also said by the Minister that centre already gave Rs. 1.20 crores to the Tripura Govt to develop Yoga centres in state and now Centre has sought back the unutilized funds. But, Tripura Govt will buy items for Yoga as due to Lockdown, it could not be utilized.

However, Govt is not thinking about private Yoga sectors' opening right now.
