AGARTALA, November 25 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Monday batted for increased infrastructure in the state for enhancing communication with neighbouring Bangladesh in the wake of Prime Minister's visit here on December 1.
Eyeing on better improvement communication with the neighbouring country Bangladesh, the Tripura Govt. would place a memorandum with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said CM Manik Sarkar on Monday. Mr. Sarkar said that the state govt. Wanted to take up the issue of the regular access of Bangladesh Ashuganj Port and Chittagong Port and for the development of the Agartala airport as an international airport for creating connectivity with Dhaka and Chittagong.
He said that the 15-km long Agartala –Akhaura(Bangladesh) railway line which would connect Indian railways with Bangladesh railways through north eastern region should be completed soon for better connectivity.
Talking to the media persons here at the secretariat on Monday CM Manik Sarkar said that the state govt. would ask for the Prime Minister's intervention for a faster implementation of the projects in Tripura.
