AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): When Police have stopped opposition CPI-M’s silent protest in Agartala, the BJP and Viswa Hindu Parishad held celebrations by violating social distancing. In such a move, 3 persons loaded bikes were seen raising ‘Jai Shree Ram Slogan’ and many were not properly wearing masks also. At the same time, Police in the same city had stopped oppositions’ protests who were to stage protest silently. Police have allegedly stopped CITU from protesting although the non-containment zones were announced with Unlock-Measures.CITU was to protest with various issues with silent display of banners but police sent them back to the party office. Ironically, the BJP has continued programmes in Tripura and in Rakhi festival also, in various places, gatherings were made.

As CITU has not gotten any permission from police today to protest, former Minister Manik Dey has slammed police’s biased roles, asking, why the BJP activists are allowed to protest.

He was seen performing the 'pooja' at 'Shree Ram Janmabhoomi' along with UP governor Anandiben Patel and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. After the ceremony, PM Modi in his address said, "Like August 15, today's day holds a similar significance for crores of people who devoted their lives for the cause of Ram temple. The 'mandir' will mark a decisive change in the economy of Ayodhya." He termed August 5 a 'golden day' and added that Ram Janmabhoomi stands 'liberated' today. CM Yogi Adityanath said that the temple construction is a moment to "showcase new India to the world, which does not discriminate on basis of caste and creed".

Meanwhile RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, while remembering Ashok Singhal, Paramhans Das and LK Advani, said that (the beginning of temple constructions) proves "we can do what we want to do". Before the stone laying ceremony, PM Modi stopped at Hanumangarhi Temple for 'darshan', following which he arrived at the Ram Mandir site and was seen taking part in 'darshan' of 'Bhagwan Shree Ramlala Virajman'.
