AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): Tripura BJP Govt's Press Accreditation under various questions from nepotism to saffron bias after State Govt broke its own guidelines in selecting candidates.

Two major violation by Tripura BJP Govt are:

1. Many accredited candidates did not possess 5 years to 15 yrs minimum experience as required by guideline

2. Many accredited candidates do not possess Degree/Diploma in Journalism from a recognized University

3. State Govt announced that accreditation of media houses will take place first, before accreditation given to journalists working in those medias

4. Accreditation process was kept fully under dark from Tripura medias, and 95% all candidates were hand picked from 'Saffron' biased medias.

With this, resentments have been brewed among the deprived journalists and also the senior, experienced journalists as Govt did not follow rules and regulations in providing accreditation cards, rather handpicked journalists as per wish of few people.
