AGARTALA, July 17 (TIWN): Govt employees have slammed Law Minister Ratanlal Nath for doing press conference on only 3% increment of Govt Employees salaries, as 3% increment is not a charity but a rule from decades. Increment is given twice and the previous Govt used to give 5% DA twice. But, this is the first Govt, which needed a press meet to announce about 3% increment with no DA this year. This is also the first Govt which has a pending of 17% DA with no DA for many employees from it's in power. In a cabinet meeting this decision was taken on Friday. Addressing media, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath said, "When many states are cutting salaries of employees, Biplab Deb Govt has decided to increase it. In Kerala, the CPI-M Govt has cut salaries amid High Court's stay order by passing an ordinance. But here we have decided to pay more".In another decision, Govt has come to the economic solution of COVID-19 pandemic that 30% salaries of the MLAs to be cut.
"If a person of Group-A gets Rs. 90,000 basic, then s/he will get Rs.2,700 more. Group-B, whose Group-B, whose basic is Rs.83,200, s/he will get Rs.2,500 more. Group-C, whose basic is 30,500 will et Rs. 900 more. Group D, whose basic is Rs. 22,100, will get Rs. 700 more", said Ratanlal Nath.
After the announcement, Govt employees have started voicing and many of them informed, reminded media that this is nothing new but annual rule.
