AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): Unbeatable fuel price rises are increasing the everyday commodity prices affecting states like Tripura. When commodity prices are lifting higher, potato prices also has taken a jump at Rs. 30 to Rs. 40. In a major concerns, the lockdown imposed in several cities, coupled with unfavourable weather and rising fuel prices, has affected vegetable supply, leading to a steep rise in prices. Traders in wholesale mandis have told media that prices of most vegetables are likely to remain above Rs 50/kg for the next few days.
Petrol prices in Tripura continues at above Rs. 80 and Diesel above Rs. 75.
In other states also, the fuel prices and the weather both affecting the prices.
The lockdown in big cities is likely to cause a further shortage of tomato supply and the prices may go well beyond Rs 100/kg in retail markets in Delhi and its nearby states. It may affect Tripura too, unless there is a massive control by the Govt on prices including pricetags on fuels.
