AGARTALA, November 23 (TIWN): The Pradesh Congress Committee will be reorganized soon with MLA Birjit Sinha likely to be the new PCC President. Whereas talking to TIWN today Pradyot Kishore Manikya told that the Congress image should be modified first and the party also should keep eyes on rural people.

The newly appointed All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Tripura in-charge V. Narayanswamy paying a two day visit to Tripura and taking a stock of the party’s position here made it clear that the PCC would be reorganized, where the present PCC President D.C. Hrangkhwal and working president Ashish Saha will be removed from their post, whereas MLA Birjit Sinha is likely to be the new PCC President, said the sources in congress.

According to the sources in the congress, opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman had proposed the name of Pradyot Kishore Manikya for the President post as ADC election is coming near, but talking to TIWN, Sudip Barman denied this and said that he had not at all proposed the name of Pradyot for the PCC President post, whereas on the other hand talking to TIWN Pradyot Kishore Manikya made it clear that he has nothing to say in this matter. He also said that his name had not been proposed for the PCC president post, and even if it is done than he has to clarify it from Mr. Barman, said Pradyot.

Talking to TIWN, Pradyot Kishore also said that during the visit of the AICC General Secretary  V. Narayanswamy he has been given some responsibilities in regard of increasing the party’s vote bank in the tribal areas of the state.

He also said that if MLA Birjit Sinha replaces PCC President D.C. Hrangkwal, than he do welcome him, but it is nothing to do with the change of the CLP leader right now, said Pradyot. Later talking to TIWN, Pradyot  Kishore claimed that whatever may be the situation right now, but the Congress needs to modify the party image and it is a great need for the party to move to the rural areas of the state.

During the visit of AICC GS V. Narayanswamy here in Tripura, he had asked the congress leaders to be more active and win the heart of the people of the state at large.

However, but it is to be mentioned here that renovation of the congress might have brought a gloominess among the Congress heads here in the PCC.
