Bar Council of Tripura to visit CM seeking various demands

Agartala, Nov 22 (TIWN): Bar Council of Tripura today held the first meeting at the High Court Bar Association hall. During the meeting several decisions were taken by the members of the Bar Council of Tripura.

In the meeting, a 5-member committee was formed to frame the Bar council’s rule, said the chairman of Bar Council of Tripura- Pijush Kanti Biswas in a press conference at the High Court Bar Association hall, here today. The five members of the committee are; Puroshuttam Roy Barman, Bijan Chandra Das, Sankar Deb, Arun Chandra Bhowmik and Dipak Biswas, he said.

It was decided in the meeting that the a delegation of Bar Council of Tripura will move to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar seeking formation of a Advocate’s Welfare Funds Trustee Committee by the second week of December, he added.  The Bar Council of Tripura will also demand for monthly stipend of minimum Rs. 5000 for the junior lawyers, those who completed practice for five years. During the meeting, it was also decided that Bar Council of Tripura will provide identity card to every lawyers of the state, Biswas added.

On the occasion of 100th birth anniversary of former Justice of Supreme Court V. R. Krishna Iyer, a seminar will be conducted by the Bar Council of Tripura on last week of December or first week of January, next, Biswas said. A renowned Justice of Supreme Court will attend the seminar, he said.

Besides, Biswas, Chairman of Finance Committee of the Bar Council of Tripura- Prasanta Kumar Paul, chairman of Executive Committee of the Bar Council of Tripura- Sankar Deb and many others attended the press meet.
