AGARTALA, Novrmber 22 (TIWN): Ahead of ADC election a convention of Congress ST Cell was organized today at Khumulung. The convention was held in the Auditorium of TTAADC. AICC General Secretary cum Congress observer for N-E states N Narayanswami, Assam Congress General Secretary Bhupen Bora, PCC President Dibachandra Hrangkhal, PCC Executive President Asish Kumar Saha, Sudip Roy Barman- Leader of Opposition and MLA Gopal Roy remained present in this convention.
Large number of tribal workers attended the Convention. Through this convention Pradesh Congress has practically begun its ADC election campaign. This time the visit of AICC observer gave a new dimension to this campaign. At a time when various corruption issues are pushing the ruling CPI(M) back foot day by day, this type of convention will surely help the Congress to find its footing in the hills, said political analists.
Speaking on this convention AICC General Secretary Narayanswami said," In order to strengthen the organization I will visit Tripura once in a month. And there is a need for united effort to remove this corrupt govt."
Bhupen Bora slammed the CPI(M) saying," More autonomy is not given to the ADC as the lions share of the fund allocated by the Centre for the development of the tribals goes to CPI(M)'s party fund. What we are now witnessing is simply looting of govt money. And thus arises to make continuous movement against this organized looting." Audio Roy Barman, Dibachandra Hrangkhal, Asish Saha and Gopal Roy also delivered lectures in this convention.
