KAMALPUR, Nove 21 (TIWN): “The agency changed the design and extended height of the tank up to 1 meter. Moreover, the Supervising Engineer not supervised the work properly. All these resulted in tank collapse.â€, DM Dr. Milind Ramteke informed TIWN about his findings in the tank collapse incident of Joshitilla BOP. The DM further informed in a telephonic conversation that, he would submit his report by 6th December next to the Home Department. As the BSF filed a case with the police, so police would proceed the matter further. DM told the details of the finding of the report. Mainly two points have came out from the investigation.
1) The Agency did not maintain the structure and design of the tank as prescribed by the department and increased the height up to 1 meter.
2) The Supervising Engineer probably not supervised the work properly.
However, the DM stated that, misappropriation or corruption was not found in the work. He further mentioned that,
he would recommend to the higher authority to provide RCC pillar tanks at the BSF BOPs to stop any such incident further.
