AGARTALA, November 22 (TIWN): The Agartala Amtali – Khayerpur bypass road functioning in a miserable condition turning the road into an accident prone zone. Inspite of an occurrence of several accidents state govt. is playing a role of a silent spectator and are leading the common mass to take a life risk travelling through the road.

It has been since seven to eight years that the Agartala Amtali – Khayerpur bypass road had been constructed under the Grif Construction Company. The road was constructed especially for a free movement of the heavy vehicles. But recently the road had taken a bad shape turning terrible for the heavy as well as small vahicles to travel. The Amtali-Khayerpur road, one of the major pathway for the local people has now turned from bad creating several potholes and breakage in the road, which pose serious threat to the vehicles and the drivers.

The Agartala Amtali – Khayerpur bypass road now turned into an accident prone zone as several accidents had already occurred on the road which claimed the life of many peoples in different times.

The bypass road is laying in deplorable condition for a long time and has not been repaired for a long time. And following this people also staged several agitations in demand of proper carpeting of the road for an easy conveyance of the vehicles.

However, it is to be mentioned here that recently the central govt. had asked the state govt. to take all sorts of construction works under their guidance. Therefore this must be time now for the Tripura govt. to take necessary steps in regard of the proper maintenance of roads, especially the Agartala Amtali-Khayerpur bypass road.  Because the lack of maintenance of the road for a long period of time are leading the travellers to face several hurdles, especially during the rainy season.
