Agartala, Nov 21 (TIWN): Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT) recently placed a memorandum to the Governor and Chief Minister seeking CBI probe to unearth the mysterious death incidents of two teenage tribal girls at Takarjala on September 12 and to give capital punishment to the culprits, said Assistant General Secretary of INPT and former MLA- Rajeswar Debbarma today over telephone. A letter was also placed at the Takarjala police station earlier, he said.
In the letter, INPT also demanded for Rs. 5 lakh as compensation for the two victimized families each, a government job for their family members, stern action against the criminals and deployment of security for 24 hours at the school hostel, Debbarma said.
It is to be mentioned here, three students of tenth standard were found missing from the Takarjala South Higher Secondary School hostel on September 11. The very next day, the two girl students- Reena Debbarma and Seema Debbarma were found hanging from a tree near the hostel.
Saria Dedbbarma, companion of the two deceased girls who also went missing with with them returned back alive. Being asked, she informed that some unknown miscreants kidnapped them when they went to a nearby field on September 11 evening. However Saria managed to return back. But, INPT suspected that Sariya’s statement was false and she should undergo through a lie detector test.
According to the locals, both the girls were killed post murder. Later, they were hanged on the tree. At this, the students of the school had gheraoed Takarjala police station demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the murder.
Of late, the police had arrested three youths, Ashish Debbarma, Buddha Debbarma and Prahar Debbarma in connection with the incident.
