AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): TIPRA organization has voiced against the ongoing hunger strike by Joint Movement committee comprised of Nagarik Mancha and Mizo Convention saying that this hunger strike is fully illegal when lockdown is going.
Nagarik Mancha is belonged to Bengai Community and Mizo Convention is of Jumpui locals who traditionally considered as Mizo origin, Tripura people.
TIPRA leader said that they believe, there is a strong evil power behind this demonstration which caused Madhav Bari like violence.
The joint movement held a hunger strike demanding Govt’s accountability to the losses to locals caused by Brus in last 23 years including burning their houses and compelled them to leave their home for months time to time. Also they demanded not to establish Brus in Jumpui Hills.
Brus are now Tripura residents, recognized by Govt of India, fled to Tripura after an ethnic violence before 23 years in Mizoram. No Govt yet has succeeded to solve the issue permanently. Now when BJP Govt started land acquisition, locals stopped Govt seeking Govt’s neutral eyes to all and not to deprive the natives who are locals in Kanchanpur for decades.
However, the TIPRA organization did not voice against TPF’s gathering which called former Election Commissioner as an outsider and used harsh words against Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais, demanding Royal scion cum resigned Congress President Pradyot Manikya’s appointment as ADC CEM till NRC and ADC Election is held, claiming undemocratically that the Royal figure is the owner of ADC and Non-ADC areas.
