AGARTALA, June 13 (TIWN): State Women Commission of Tripura showed displeasure on Police and administration for delaying in taking case on anti-liquor drive and molestation took place in Dasda Kambal Tila on 20th May.

Reportedly, On 20th May few women showed protest against opening of a liquor shop in their locality. A person named Himadri Paul wanted to open a liquor shop and there created trouble after the protest of women. Allegation of physical molest also came out from the women. Yet the administration and police was silent on the matter. At last, they requested State Women Commission for help.

On Saturday after talking with police, State Women Commission Chairperson Barnali Goswami said, "This is really unfortunate that our Police and administration took long 20 days to take action on the matter where a case of molestation has been reported. When the Government have launched Neshamukt project, strict and immediate action is expected from police on such issues. The shop owner Himadri Paul can open a shop of essential things also instead of spreading drugs."

She also added,"Being the chairperson of Women Commission such negligence of Police department towards a Woman who has been molested made me disappointed."

She also said that, Tripura Women Commission will help the women of Dasda and will continue their actions till the justice is served.
