AGARTALA, June 13 (TIWN): Tripura University, the only central University of the state made thousands of students loose their dream of pursuing their PG course in it. The University authority have declared that the Entrance test for new academic year (TUET) will not be conducted this year for the outbreak of global pandemic and the way of admission will be dependent on the merit of their graduation.

This made the thousand aspiring students helpless, as mark never decides the talent, but a entrance examination does. In a study of last few years, it is seen that there's hardly a topper of graduation contains in common merit list of TUET.

While talking to a aspiring student he said, "Hundreds of us are preparing for the entrance test thought out the year. But now they are taking admission on the basis of marks! How can a central University do so?" 

Question arises on the Authority for taking such irresponsible decision that made hundreds of talents loose their hope. On other hand, it came under the light of media that being a Central University , Tripura University neither follows central reservation  rule, nor state reservation rule. It has its own rules, that made public through a question on the University authority.

Besides, the University is running on a weak administration since last few years. Being the highest authority of Education of the state, the University is running without a VC for one and half years since the last VC VL Dharurkar forcefully resigned from his post after after a video of the VC accepting bribe from a Kolkata-based printing firm for awarding a contract worth Rs 60 lakh went viral. Also, there's no permanent Registrar and FO in the administration. Such negligence towards a central university is unacceptable, alleged the public.
